Bobcat rib bones are naturally curved and slender, making them well-suited for traditional crafting and utilitarian purposes. They were historically fashioned into small awls, needles, and fishhooks for piercing or working materials such as leather and sinew. Smaller ribs could also be carved into decorative pins or used as components in composite tools.
