Elk shoulder bone

$7.50

The broad, flat shape of the elk shoulder bone (scapula) makes it ideal for scraping hides, digging, or even serving as a primitive shovel. Many would use scapulae to help process bison or elk hides. Some Indigenous groups used scapulae as digging tools for planting crops such as corn, beans, and squash, long before metal tools were widely available. Vary in size.
