18″ – Ozette Spinal Whorl

Painting was inspired from a spinal whorl that came from the Ozette dig about 40 years ago and the carved spinal whorl is in the collection of the museum in Neah Bay, WA.  It has to be 500 years old or older. The people of the coast raised a fuzzy dog to make their blankets
